Of course I know why . . . ghosts! Geez weren't you reading??? :-)

I'm hoping the Prat fixed my growing concern over vermouth . . . too many drinks out there that use it for me to have an aversion.

Interestingly enough, in "The Joy of Mixology" by Gary Regan, he discusses an alternative to the Corpse Reviver #1 that usues (I think) 1.5 ounces of Applejack, .75 ounces of brandy and .75 ounces of sweet vermouth. I think I would like this version better. Maybe I'll give it a try tonight . . . after my morning I'm going to need a drink after work!

You know why the clock was wrong, right?

Anyways, you may like it better with the Noilly Prat. I've definitely liked that sweet vermouth better than Martini & Rossi. In fact, the only bottle of M&R vermouth I have in my fridge right now is an uncracked bottle of the M&R bianca.

It'd also be interesting to see how the drink compares with Laird's Applejack and an apple brandy like the Clear Creek Distillery apple brandy I gave you a week and a half ago, which actually has more of an apple taste to it than the applejack does (in my opinion).

Me, I'm drinking Sam Adams Winter Lager - the new kegerator beer. (And sipping a Clear Creek apple brandy mini as I think about my winter cocktail.)
