I went with the classic martini.

Well, 3 parts Plymouth gin, 1 part dry vermouth, and a tiny touch of olive brine ('cause I do like 'em dirty) to go with my La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5.

(At Marshall's, that was 3 oz. Plymouth and 1 oz. Martini & Rossi dry vermouth.)

Now that I'm back home, it's another (big) martini - Bombay gin and Noilly Prat dry vermouth. (6 oz and 2 oz respectively, plus some brine.)

Mmmmmmm.

Happy birthday Mr. Churchill.

(I just can't drink 'em the way Winston did...)

Not too sure. A gin beverage would certainly be fitting, also something strong and assertive like whiskey. I could always give him a toast with whatever I'm drinking or go to the lab and try and come up with something myself. Probably won't decide until crunch time though.

Have a great weekend! Cheers,

But what sort of drink old chap?

The only reference to Churchill's drinking habits I ever read was his famous "incredibly dry" martini, whereby he would toast the glass of gin towards France......
