The Rittenhouse 100 is the best rye whiskey under $50 I know of. Speaking of less expensive whiskey, give Old Weller Antique 107 a try, great for cocktails.

It was great to meet you guys today, I had fun selling you the rare and odd items that are often so tough to find.

Just to clarify a couple of things, though, it's Fever Tree tonic (www.Fever-Tree.com)and I think you'll really notice the significant difference it makes vs. Schweppes and especially over Canada Dry or Seagram's.

Also, the Wasmund's Whisky that you bought was lot #15 (or, as Rick wrote on each label, "Lot XV")which is a significant bottle in the evolution of Wasmund's Whisky, almost a watershed release, though I'd have to pinpoint where he really turned the corner as a distiller at Lot #11. When discussing Wasmund's, it's very important to know which lot # you are referring to, especially where any of the earlier (pre-lot #11) releases are concerned.

The Peat Monster is one of several releases by Compass Box (www.compassboxwhisky.com) all of which have their own merits, but that Peat Monster is a joy to those of us who appreciate heavily-peated single malts. Adam, the bartender at Bar Pilar on 14th St. (Cardozo neighborhood)makes fantastic cocktails using it, too.

Hope to see you guys again soon!
