SeanMike Whipkey
Scofflaw, Intoxicologist, Writer, Engineer, and Drinker
As a wee lad growing up in West Virginia, SeanMike’s parents put bourbon on his gums for teething and had to hide their longnecks or he’d steal them. So it seems only inevitable that he’d become a fan of beer and whiskey when he grew up. After years of experimenting with drink making in college, he and Marshall Fawley decided to start using only fresh juice, homemade simple syrup, and quality ingredients when making cocktails. As a compulsive writer, SeanMike decided he needed to write about it, and, with Marshall, Scofflaws Den was born. He’s kept track of his progress as a cocktailian and mixologist since then, creating everything from drinks themed for individuals (30 in 30 days for Tales of the Cocktail, and one each for his brother and sister-in-law at their wedding) to helping run and write up Thursday Drink Nights. He also passed the Pernod-Ricard BarSmarts Online course. His current obsession is either drinks with whole eggs in them or perfecting gin and tonics, depending on how hungover he is that day.
