We have a little age on us, but are no where near mature enough. ?It’s hard to believe, but 3 years ago Scofflaw’s Den was started by two knuckleheads who liked to have a drink or two. ?It’s been an amazing three years and I’m ready for three more.
The DC cocktail scene has steadily grown into one of the premiere drink destinations in the Nation. ?(But I guess I’m a little biased.) ?Wonderfully, more and more people are talking about cocktails and wanting to drink better at home. ?Maybe people are just getting older and tastes are changing but the moral of the story is they are thinking about what they drink and the quality of their potables.
The bartenders, writers, enthusiasts, and industry folk still surprise me with how fun, friendly, and inclusive they are. ?The level of innovation and artistry, with booze and words, is quite impressive.
As for the future here at The Den? ?Well, we’re going to keep on keeping on. ?I plan on writing more about my homemade infusions, experiments, and cocktail recipes. ?We’ll continue to bring you news and information from the DC cocktail world. ?And of course, if anyone out there has any suggestions or things you would like to see on this site, pipe up and let us know.
So, like a 3yr whiskey, we have a little age on us and the sharp edges are beginning to round out. ?We’ll keep going because, let’s face it, we’re nowhere near mature enough (ain’t that the truth!!!)
